Care Instructions
Overall Care (Applies to All Materials)
These points can be used are care instructions for your customers about your made earrings.
Avoid prolonged water exposure — remove earrings before showering, swimming, or washing hair.
Keep away from harsh chemicals such as perfumes, hairspray, cleaning products, alcohol wipes, and sanitiser.
Do not soak or leave earrings in damp areas (bathroom shelves, wet bags, etc.).
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight when not being worn.
Avoid heat — do not leave earrings in hot cars, near heaters, or on windowsills.
Treat as statement jewellery — avoid wearing during exercise, sleeping, or heavy activity.
Clean gently only using a soft, dry cloth (or slightly damp cloth if needed — never scrub).
Printed surfaces may scratch if rubbed against keys, other jewellery, or rough surfaces — store separately when possible.
White Acrylic (UV Printed)
Wipe gently with a soft microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints or marks.
Avoid abrasive cloths (paper towel, scouring sponges) which can cause fine scratches.
Keep away from strong solvents (acetone/nail polish remover) — these can damage the acrylic and print. Anything with alcohol in it, as UV Ink is alcohol based.
White acrylic can show scuffs more easily, so store separately from metal components.
Store away from other acrylic pieces to prevent friction scratches.
Clear Acrylic (UV Printed)
Handle carefully to avoid scratching, as clear acrylic shows marks more than opaque acrylic.
Avoid abrasive cloths (paper towel, scouring sponges) which can cause fine scratches.
Keep away from strong solvents (acetone/nail polish remover) — these can damage the acrylic and print. Anything with alcohol in it, as UV Ink is alcohol based.
Store away from other acrylic pieces to prevent friction scratches.
Cork (UV Printed)
Do not soak or saturate cork — it is naturally porous and may warp if over-wet.
Clean gently with a dry cloth (or very lightly damp cloth if needed).
Avoid bending or folding, especially in thin areas, as cork can crease.
Store flat and dry to help maintain shape and prevent curling. Or hanging if it is made into earrings.
Keep away from oils and makeup, which may stain or darken cork over time.
Genuine Leather (UV Printed)
Leather is a natural material — variation in grain and texture is normal and part of its charm.
Avoid moisture and humidity, as leather can warp or stiffen if repeatedly exposed to water.
Do not use chemical cleaners or wipes — these can strip natural oils and affect the print.
Store away from direct sunlight, which may fade leather and printed colours over time.
Avoid heavy pressure or bending, especially near holes or thin sections. The print can crack
Wood (UV Printed)
Wood is porous and natural — each piece may vary slightly in grain and tone.
Do not soak — excessive moisture may cause swelling or warping.
Wipe gently with a dry cloth (or slightly damp cloth for light marks).
Avoid prolonged sunlight exposure, as both wood and print may fade over time.
Store flat and away from high heat to prevent bowing or bending.
Avoid moisture and humidity. Store is an air tight container to avoid exposure to long periods of humidity.
Yupo Paper (UV Printed)
(Yupo is a synthetic, waterproof paper — lightweight and vibrant, but still needs gentle care.)
Avoid sharp bending or creasing, as it can leave permanent marks.
Handle gently around holes and edges to prevent tearing.
Do not rub vigorously — the surface can scuff if scrubbed.
Keep away from heat, as high temperatures may cause warping.
Store flat, and avoid stacking with heavy items on top.
